6th “Nature in the Pioneer Valley” Photo Exhibit

Award winning nature artwork in The Floyd Photo Gallery's 6th "Nature in the Pioneer Valley" photo contest.
The Robert Floyd Photo Gallery continues to raise awareness of nature in the Pioneer Valley of Massachusetts.
This is our 6th "Nature in the Pioneer Valley" photto contest.
- Print entries were judged by qualified and respected nature photographers, Ms. Pat Crutchfield and Marc St. Onge.
- They both worked hard together to select the top three or four prints in each category to be invited into the exhibit.
- The photographers of the selected prints are then invited to frame their prints for this exhibit.
- Then, artwork is determined for the individual awards for 1st, 2nd, and Honorable Mention(s) in two divisions, Advanced and Novice.
- The Advanced Landscape category had over 30 entries. It was determined to create 3 sub-categories allowing for eight additional awards including Best in Landscapes award.
- 20 winning artwork in all.
- All artwork are availbe for sale.
- The award ceremony date will be announced shortly.
On Sunday, MAY 6, these photographers received awards for their selected artwork jurored by our Ms. Pat Crutchfield and Marc St. Onge:
Novice_Landscapes
1st place: "Rail Trail Snow" by Marc Bussiere. Awarded an $100 bank check.
2nd place: "Morning Muse" by Marc Bussiere. Awarded a $50 Floyd Gallery Gift Certificate and a fine art photo book.
Honorable Mention: "A Fog Falls on the Railroad Tracks" by Julie Cunningham. Awarded a certificate and a pint of the best dary maple syrup from Windy Hill Sugar Shack, Worthington, MA.
Advanced_Abstract
1st place: "Golden Monroe" by Mary Jeanne Tash. Awarded an $100 bank check.
2nd place:" Woronoco Ice Sculpture" by Jay Harder. Awarded a $50 Floyd Gallery Gift Certificate and a fine art photo book.
Honorable Mention: "Summac Splendour" by Barb Krawczyk. Awarded a certificate and a pint of the best dark maple syrup from Windy Hill Sugar Shack, Worthington, MA.

Advanced_Birds in Flight

Advanced_Landscapes
1st place: "Struggle For Survival" by Vern Wells. Awarded a large fine art archival portfolio box, black lined.
2nd place: "Mill Valley Farm at Dawn" by Josh Baum. Awarded a $50 Floyd Gallery Gift Certificate and a fine art photo book.

Advanced_Waterscapes

There were over 30 entries for Advanced Landacapes. To be fair, they were divided into three categories: Landscapes, Waterscapes, Winterscapes, creating 7 additional awards, a 50% increase from our Plan A. One Best in Landscapes then was selected by the jurores:
Best in 3 Landscape Categories: "Struggle For Survival" by Vern Wells. Awarded an $100 bank check and a giant National Geographic fine art book.
