The Forest Floor: Intimate Landscapes from Kestrel Land Trust Conservation Areas
Nov 1, 2022 - Nov 30, 2022 | Themes: Nature, Abstract
Robert Floyd Gallery is pleased to present Patricia Crutchfield’s photographs.
This exhibit springs from her most recent exhibit at the Monson House of Art courtesy of the Monson Arts Council. There, Pat curated the exhibit CELEBRATE KESTREL LAND TRUST: 50 YEARS AND GOING STRONG EXHIBIT and exhibited her 74 prints. Her photography of the Kestrel areas for the past 18 months led to this historic adventure.
Ms. Crutchfield is known for her annual social justice projects, A Chorus of Color and Light: Urban and Country Scapes, COMMUNITIES OF HOPE: GARDENING THROUGH THE PANDEMIC, and Celebrate Springfield Live with exhibits at the Monson House of Art, Easthampton Media, and The Robert Floyd Gallery. Pat’s artwok invites you to feel what she sees as the viewer is taken through a cultural journey for each project. Pat maintains her dedication and passion throughout her projects. Her images are alive with color, tight compositions, and a consistent seeing that radiates the energy she experiences capturing the images in the field. The spirit of her work benefits all and is remarkable. project after project.
As curator of the Robert Floyd Gallery, Pat is called upon to select images, juror and judge photo contests, and co-instruct advanced workshops and seminars. Outdoors with camera in hand, Pat connects with her subjects being in the moment with them. The subject, her camera, and herself become one true Zen.
I have witnessed Pat capturing images in this way from Manhattan to Southern New England to the trails of the Pioneer Valley. Each image is hard-fought and delicately recorded, left alone and on to the next subject. This exhibit’s images delight the heart and soul.
